Meet The Principal

Israel Verver Jr
Mr. Israel Verver, Jr. is a Dallas native and has dedicated his 19-year educational career to the Dallas Independent School
District. He is a product of Dallas ISD and began his educational journey at Maple Lawn Elementary. With the support and
encouragement from teachers, his parents, and the community he became the first member of his family to attend college.
Having served in Dallas ISD since 2004, Mr. Verver has been a part of the district's educational evolution. His mindset and commitment is aligned with that of Dallas ISD and he is a strong proponent of the district's beliefs and approach regarding academic and personal student achievement. He is committed to the vision of Dallas ISD and the scholars the district serves. He continues to partner with and be a steward of the district by helping forge paths that equip every scholar with skills and tools needed for them to reach their full potential and thus take advantage of opportunities that lie before them. Effective leadership is at the foundation of every successful organization. Mr. Verver's beliefs regarding effective leadership align directly with that of Dallas ISD-an effective leader advances student achievement and builds staff capacity by building relationships rooted in trust and creating a culture of equity and inclusivity.
Mr. Verver graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1994 earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Following graduation he resided and worked in Chicago before returning to Dallas and pursuing his teaching certification. He dedicated the initial 14 years of his educational journey to serving as a classroom teacher within the Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove communities. During his years in the classroom Mr. Verver had the privilege of serving a wide range of grade levels-1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th.
After encouragement from campus Principals where he served as a teacher, Mr. Verver was motivated to pursue a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of North Texas. He successfully completed his studies and earned his Masters degree in 2018. His leadership journey began as an assistant principal at Young Men's Leadership Academy at Fred Florence Middle School guiding the Math department to a "B" rating. In his 4th year as an Assistant Principal Mr. Verver was nominated to participate in DISD's Principal Residency Program. In the Summer of 2022 Mr. Verver was selected into the Residency Program and joined the outstanding leadership team at G. W. Truett Elementary as Principal Resident Intern. During his time at Truett the opportunity to lead N. W. Harllee ECC as the Interim Principal was offered to Mr. Verver. Hе enthusiastically and seamlessly welcomed the transition into the role as Interim Principal at Harllee and served in this capacity to end the 22-23 academic year.
Mr. Verver's unique experience of serving a variety of age groups has strengthened his understanding of curriculum and deepened his understanding and appreciation of the importance of vertical alignment. The professional roles that have
presented themselves to Mr. Verver further developed his leadership capacity by providing him valuable insight into early childhood education. He is guided in the belief that "we do now what others won't so that tomorrow we achieve what others can't.
